Any recommendations? Last 2 have been Ambient Weather Stations.

May have gotten 5 years out of the first one and the 2nd one (5000) is terrible and failed nearly completely within 2 years.

Ambient app is terrible / difficult to navigate the cheap display... ready for something new.

Quality is probably the most important after the Ambients appear to be nearly disposable. Nice display and a good app would be nice.

I've had La Crosse for 3-4 years and have been satisfied.

I had a series of AI prompts looking for weather station recommendations a few weeks ago. I'll see if I can find the final recommendations the bot gave me.

Edit- it was the ambient WS-2000 I think.

I have davis vantagepro 2 at a couple of locations. they have lasted forever. had to replace the anemometer once. they did not have the connection ability expect for a personal computer when I got mine. Not sure what I will go to next. I do like the ultrasonic sensors for rain and wind that other brands have. Not sure on there accuracy, not looked into that.

I had one from LaCrosse for several years. It quit displaying rainfall so bought one from Acurite, partly because it would pair to WeatherUnderground which the LaCrosse would not. After I got the Acurite, I decided to install the LaCrosse in another spot in my fairly large back yard. The LaCrosse started displaying rainfall (in the rare times we get that stuff) and have never been able to get the Acurite to connect to WX Underground. I have had times when the Acurite would be stuck on the same temp. I could reset and get it working. Based on that, I prefer the LaCrosse although have both in service now.
