Its funny because i love that gun and how it shoots, but i really hate the red trigger.

But ive always been more about performance than looks so since it shoots great it stays.

They probably would loved to just have had that 1847 Walker replica shown. Instead of the flintlock pistols they had.
As OP says…..technology has changed but a "Well armed militia" has not.

Yeah the walker is the oldest style firearm I have and since it played such a role in later Texas history and made the point I went with it.

It does color coordinate with the mag extension which I think looks pretty snappy.

It just cracks me up because red anodized parts are universally amazon tier chinese garbage in the AR world, and Dan Wesson decided to use it on their DWX line.

Bright parts/grips/etc arent uncommon in the competition shooting world (CZs Orange series and their Parrot Open gun, for example), but choosing the color most associated with cheap crap was an….interesting choice.

Anyway, rereading Texan Illiad by Stephen Hardin to mark the day….worth the read if anyone hasnt checked it out.
