I know I've seen at least one thread recently where somebody was looking for a 631.

Those are still stupid expensive and unobtanium, but S&W is currently making a run for Lipseys of 632s and 432s, both with steel and titanium cylinders.

I've always been intrigued by the concept, so when I saw they were in production right now, I couldnt resist. I now have a 432 UC Ti heading my way.

A 13oz 6 shot J frame with no lock, actual sights and decent grips straight out of the box is a darn appealing package.

I shot one of Chuck Haggard's at a Pocket Rockets class we hosted at KR. I found that gun to be REALLY shootable. The sights were particularly nice IMO.

I hope you enjoy it! Mine was very easy to shoot and is very frequently carried.

Be sure and check out the Buffalo Bore wad cutter that was developed for these .32 H&R guns.

I need to make it back out to KR sometime soon.

Ive really hesitated to add another caliber but all the wheel gun autists foam at the mouth about the small 32s so I'm excited to try it out.

And yeah, sights on a J frame! Funny how crazy of a concept that apparently is.

My go to EDC these days is a 632UC. I've always had a J Frame in the rotation and I have really fell in love with the 32 H&R.

I've had a 642 for years, shoot it once a year at a steel challenge match to remind myself where it falls on the hot/crazy scale of guns (aka easy to carry vs easy to shoot scale) and always go back to my G48.

It'd be nice to replace my 642 rule one gun with something slightly more pleasant to actually shoot.

I still don't know if we've ever actually met in person.

If nothing else we could set up a time to just meet up and shoot together, whether that's at KR or somewhere else.

I think we did briefly when I was there for the combo weekend of classes (defensive pistol 2, force on force and low light), but that was back in 2019 so my memory could be off.

Would love to shoot with you sometime, I'll send a PM with contact info.

Never snagged a J-frame Smith 32H&R, but I do have a Model 16 K frame. bought new in 1992. (Pic from the 'net).

Yeah, great time to buy if you've been 32 curious.

I couldnt help myself and picked up a 632 uc (regular steel cylinder) as well as a beater practice gun so I dont put a ton of rounds on the 432 uc ti.

Both should be here next week.

Read on another forum the ti only saves 3oz? Not sure if accurate. I'm bet that's noticeable for some. If I was trying to decide between the two I would get the steel.

Bender is doing it right with both.

I had one of these TI 32s but it had a lock. It also had an exposed hammer. And I could handle all of that but I couldn't get over the Hillary hole so I sold it.

I did carry it more than a few times, maybe for a summer around Killeen, in an AIWB and pocket holster. It was hands down the lightest gun I have ever owned. And it did have some recoil but nothing that a semi experienced shooter couldn't handle.

Its just that ever time I looked at it Hillary Clinton was looking back with that snarky smile calling me a deplorable.

I would buy a new one. For sure.

Hillary holes have been fixed by the aftermarket.

My 66-8 is the last wheel gun I'd get rid of (unless this 432 knocks my socks off and it gets put in second place) and it came with one.

Its an easy fix any idiot (ie, me) can do.

Yea and correct me if I am wrong but these new guns do not have them.

As a regular J frame carrier I am interested in this one. Especially with a shrouded hammer.
BenderRodriguez

Yep, 632 uc and 432 uc (and ti versions) are all coming correct with no lock.

I think theyre still making some lock guns because i bet some idiot states require them for sale, but theyre making more no lock guns now than they have in years

I love seeing S&W get away from the locks. I was told they were done completely with them.

The current management is on a tear. Quality is up and they are addressing the needs/wants of their most loyal enthusiasts.

Finally managed to meet up with FFL.

Probably wont get to shoot them until Tuesday, might manage to get a few rounds through them tomorrow night before steel challenge depending on schedule.

Really like the AFR grips included with the 432 uc ti, have a set on order for both the 632 uc and my old 642.

Its weird seeing nice, usable sights on a J frame. Huge fan of that.

Speaking of Steel Challenge, I needed to set up a gun for Optical Sight Revolver in my quest to be classified in every division.

You cant have ports or comps in ISR, but they are allowed in OSR so I decided the 586 L-Comp was the perfect candidate.

Now I just need to modify the holster a bit so it fits with the dot.

Schedule didn't work out this week so still need to test POA/POI with the Buffalo Bore 100gr hard cast wadcutters. I did get to shoot some 98gr magtech lwc before steel last week through both the 432 and 632. Recoil was as expected, light and manageable.

Glad I ordered more of the AFR grips, really liked them on the 432. Those came in yesterday so I put them on my old 642 and the new 632, then weighed all 3 guns loaded.

432 uc ti with AFR grips, 6 rounds of 100gr buffalo bore hardcast wad cutters: 15.4 oz
632 uc with AFR grips, 6 rounds of 100gr buffalo bore hardcast wad cutters: 17.3 oz
642 with AFR grips, 5 rounds of 148gr lwc: 17.4 oz

2 oz isn't much, but its absolutely something, especially if you plan to pocket carry.

The standard 632 with 6 rounds and decent sights weighing the same loaded as a 5 shot J frame is nice....huge upgrade in capability for the exact same weight.

It was online ship to store. Haven't checked lately.

Still $550. Not sure why they have it as a 632. 432 is the .32H&R.

632 and 432 are both .32 H&R.

432 is blued and 632 is stainless

Well I feel dumb! Not sure why I got everything twisted around. I blame it on being an old.

I have a 642 in my desk at work. That's because I hate to shoot it so I never take it home. Plus it has a laser sight in the grip, so its great for a threat walking around the tight corners in my office. Laser dot on chest and squeeze. But it is NOT fun to shoot.

Edit: I have a 646 and it's probably my favorite pistol. Never thought I'd like a revolver but it's awesome.

Don't have a 642 but bought the LCR in 327 fed, it is fun to be able to shoot this round and others

Definitely not as beautiful as yalls guns, but man I love revolvers.

All good, its a lot of numbers. Just didnt want someone ordering the 633 expecting the blued model, academy website looks to have the right gun pictured

You can do things to a 38 j frame to make things slight better (run 148gr wadcutters, a grip that covers the backstrap/gives you more to grab etc) but yeah in general they arent fun to shoot, the sights suck, theyre low capacity…..but theyre very easy to carry.

A 6 shot .32 with actual sights fixes a lot of my biggest complaints about J frames.
