Anybody have any idea what folks are charging for round baling these days? Rolled some up for a gent that occasionally buys hay from me. He had it raked (sort of), so just rolled it up. 4x 5.5 bales, just grass hay.

Appreciate it. They had it cut and sort of raked, said no one wanted to mess with rolling it, small acreage.

30-35 per bale for 4x5s in our area. If just baling, I'd guess 15-20 is fair with you providing the net wrap.
Some guys also take a percentage of the hay when they need it or can easily sell.

We had a guy in Erath county cut and bale for $25 a roll or $50 an acre if it didn't hit a 2 bale/acre minimum. Bales are twine tied, not wrapped.

I generally have mine (I own the land and have someone come do mine) baled for a split..I keep 35-50% of bales depending on if they spray or not.

We have so much hay for sale in our area, we didn't sell much of spurs….I still have over 100 bales from 2024 in my fields.
I've thought of just unloading 50-70 bales for like $20-25 per bale.

I'm in Gainesville/Whitesboro area.
Hay is mix of Johnson's grass and Bermuda. Some native mixed in like little and big blue stem.
First cut inside the high fence was a little weedy but not terrible.

This year I'm not cutting at all until mid August. Because of rain, I didn't get a cut before fawning season and I'm high fenced so fawns need the protection. So now my Johnson grass is 6 feet tall lol
