My wife and I will be in Juneau in late August for an Alaska inside passage cruise and we are considering going a few days early to fit in a fishing trip. Can anyone recommend a top notch all inclusive fully guided lodge that flys out of Juneau to the lodge. I will fish for ~3 days and my wife will fish some but probably hang back at the lodge mostly so bonus points if the lodge has activities for non-fishing guests.

No help on the fishing, but we were there last week and took a Helo to Mendenhall glacier. One of the greatest experiences of my life. I'd find a way to work it into your schedule if at all possible.

My wife and I will be going to Juneau in a few weeks and then to Pybus Point on Admirality island to do what you are suggesting Not sure if that is compatible with a cruise though. Most lodges book a year in advance and are for longer time frame then a cruise would allow
Majestic scenery every where you turn though

Yes, I just found Pybus Pt on Google Maps and it looks really great...pricey, but great. Have you been before or will this be your first time? We may be able to fit in Pybus Pt on the front end of our cruise, so I need to check into it. Thanks for the recommendation.

I fished with this person 7 or 8 years ago. Great guy. Short flight from Juneau to Hoonah. Not sure about lodging though.

This will be the first time. Looking forward to it

We took a group of 12 to Pybus last August. Lodge was great, and flexible with what everyone wanted to do. Highly recommend Jeff Davis (boat captain) - and you should request his boat in advance. The lodge likes to grab smaller halibut first on fishing days, then progress to other species. Lodge - A. Fishing - B (plenty of restrictions in the area around Juneau). Menu - B. Scenery and overall wildlife - A+++. Feel free to DM me if you want any details. They are pricey, but most of the lodges in the area are.

FYI, I would not rule out taking the ferry from Juneau to Sitka and fishing from there either. I think they still have the high-speed ferry running.

EDIT - if Pybus has a spot, and you go there, I would encourage your wife to go fishing...even if she doesn't fish. The scenery, whales feeding, orcas, and other wildlife are well worth the boat ride each day - as is the trip out to see the glacier.... you fish in both directions.

We did come home with about 80 lbs of filets.
