What are you looking for? Championship lineage bloodlines or just pedigreed family pet that may occasionally hunt?

There are lots of threads on the OB on Lab puppies. And like Rockdoc says it depends on if you want a hot bred hunter or a service type family dog temperament as to the breeder. Main thing…..make sure you ask lots of questions….like past history of health issues like hips, eyes, etc. within the pedigree.

In order of preference:

Not >$1,500
Chocolate male AKC lab
Parents or parent have been hunted over but also are good family dogs
Located in Texas

Couple of other recommendations that were off of other previous TA lab threads:
Hartland Labrador's of Texas - down by San Antonio. Best Service dog temperament Lab we ever had came from him.
Snake Mountain Labs - outside of CS.

Last time I inquired his pups were great but not in the right price point. Believe they were 2400

Gotcha. I don't recall what we paid for ours but she's a great puppy. Well, not a puppy anymore. Kim Warren is a she by the way.

I have a litter that should have blacks and chocolates due June 21st. Parents are on the smaller side at 70 and 60 pounds. Amazing pedigree. Both parents are titled but also have hunted. Full health clearances.

Am looking for a lab (would prefer yellow but black is definitely good) that is on the smaller side. What do you think the temperament of the offspring would be. I'm getting older and looking for one that leans more toward couch potato than hunting level energy.

You need an English lab.

I actually have some yellows that will be 2 weeks tomorrow... 3 males and 1 female available.

Momma looks so very tired.

His favorite position

Our friends brought their American labs over and my English labs sat on the patio looking annoyed when hers wouldn't stop bringing the ball back to be thrown. It's a completely different world. Will they hunt birds? Sure. Do they prefer a nice long afternoon nap? Yep

I just got an 8 week old choc lab with English father and American mother. Will be interesting to see how he turn out with age.

Please keep us updated. I'm curious as well. We could tell early on. They definitely have puppy energy but it was very workable. And very little destruction.

We have another that's 3/4 English and 1/4 American and he's wild as a March hare. He'd make a good hunter. He has some of the waddle but takes more after that 1/4 American

You think it's the yellow in him or the American or both? I don't know many calm yellows.

My last lab was a smaller sized female yellow (American). You could get her worked up to play and go on hikes and she'd run like crazy. She'd chase squirrels like crazy and then just like an off switch go lay down on the porch, but at attention, and just watch the world go by for hours. Also, once in the house she'd plop down and was totally mellow as could be. If you needed to move her it was a chore as she perfected the letting the body go totally limp. Best thing was that dog was smarter than 90% of the human race.

Think it's the American because my full English above is a couch potato

Hi there,

My wife and I are looking for a labrador puppy to take home ~September time. We are ideally looking for a red female. Do you have any upcoming liters that would fit this? If not, do you know of any breeders you would recommend?

Also look at Chance Morehouse with Timber Creek Kennels in the Bedias/Singleton area.
