Mt. Etna has always been pretty active. We were there 11 years ago and they would not let you get very close to it back then.

So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

A few years back there was this very situation on a volcano over in New Zealand. It was a huge tourist attraction and unfortunately erupted while a couple of tours were in the crater. White Island Volcano.

Yeah, it was cooking off some back when we invaded Italy in WWII as well.

I love the idiots running towards the flow to get better photo/s/videos to put on the internet. I'd likely take some photos and videos, but I'll be moving away while doing so.

There's a pretty good Netflix documentary on it now. It's pretty sad, actually.

Yeah, watched the documentary a while back. Pretty good in depth into that day and how bad it was.
