Shot this big fella the other day and didn't have batteries for my scale. I could not move him by hand (to be fair that's not saying much). What yall think? I know they're never as big as they look but he has to be well over 200 I'd think. What say yall?

Low 200's. They always look bigger than they are.

In all reality, a wild pig that is 300lbs is pretty rare, and they are monsters. I"m talking holy cow big.

Not taking away from the one you shot, it's a hell of a nice pig to take out of the gene pool. You did the Lord's work.

hes in the 175-200 range. you'll know a 300 pound pig when you see him. he has no shoulders. goes from his head to his back and is built like a VW beetle.

I used to run the plant where we sent 200+ of these to piggy purgatory everyday.

I'm gonna guess 225-240. Hard to tell without a top view to see how wide he is. Also hard to tell how long he is the way you have home stretched out. I've seen narrow hogs like that go 180 and wide, long hogs go 265.

I guess it's the old Ag teacher in me looking for a table top wide hamp that's long enough to seat three on each side comfortably. .

That's a good hog. Not the biggest, but big enough to brag on. Not many have shot one that looks that big once they're dead.

I've shot so many boars that I can barely move and swear they're going to break 200 only to weight them in at 140-175lbs.

This is the biggest pig I have ever shot and weighed. I'm also a lot bigger than the OP (no offense Tandy). I did a fun guess the weight thread and most people guessed about 75lbs over

You can barely move a 140# pig?

I shot multiple bucks last year that were 170+ on the hoof last year, and drug each of them out of the brush 50-150 yds. This pig felt substantially heavier. He ended up about 20 yds in the brush and I couldn't drag him out. Ended up driving the ranger through the brush till I couldn't drag hook a strap to him.

Yes, I can drag a buck with zero problem but you give me a boar that is the exact same weight and it is substantially harder. Most of that is leverage and shorter legs. Deer you can grab a leg and drag without having to bend over substantially. A pig is much more compact and grabbing a leg and pulling usually outs you in a much less advantageous position.

He's probably close to 200 but I don't see how he is over

I am lucky to know Jim well. Dad goes down and preaches for him when he wants to take a little time off. You know he battled throat cancer and beat it? He is a hell of a good man.
