Need recommendations for best places to Striper fish with artificials this summer.

We've done Whitney a bunch but have heard it's in decline, has anyone done Buchanan or Texoma? We'll be in a CC 21 Mako with trolling motor so pretty versatile rig, and not afraid to drive a while.

Based on TPWD past stocking history, Buchanan, Tawakoni, Whitney, Livingston, Possum Kingdom have the biggest sticking numbers for stripers the last few years. By far.

Went to Whitney last weekend with the brother and old man. Normally hit striper when we're out there, but pivoted to sand bass this year based on everything we'd been hearing. Those sand bass aren't half as fun as a striper but they were certainly were plenty out there.

Striper nowhere to be found?

We didn't try for them this year. Went out with a guide and he mentioned they've been more hit or miss this year than he's remembered.

Lake Buchanan

The nonprofit I volunteer with does 3-5 striper trips with guides on Whitney and Texoma each spring & summer. We have always limited out with 5 man groups and it's always the guides call as to live or artificial bait depending on what the fish are biting that week.
I had a trip scheduled with them on Texoma yesterday but of course it got canceled due to all the flooding and debris on the lake right now.

Late summer on Texoma can be hard fishing for stripers once it gets really hot coupled with all the people targeting them at the same time
