Don't misunderstand, she's all for shooting (and quite a shot herself!). But she also has a thing for having the soon to be finished back porch nice and tidy. Can ya'll show me some ideas of a permanent fixture worthy of a woman's finest tastes?

I have a portable shooting table/bench but it is butt ugly and admit it wouldn't jive with the feng-shui she has going on with her back patio plans - lol. Plus I'd like something heavy and solid. Maybe go all concreate and stain the concreate?

Similar on our back porch of the house on the ranch in Texas. Our back porch looked over a large creek bottom and we would shoot pigs from there and targets.
I built it out of aromatic cedar, ( eastern cedar I think) ( not typical western cedar) that we got up in the Ozarks from an Amish saw mill…..it was ultra smooth wood with beautiful colors.
I did 4x4 legs and 2x8's for the top and 2x6" for bracing. I bolted the frame together instead of screws.
I sealed it with clear polyurethane oil base.
Turned out pretty I thought.
I suppose it's still there. I'll see if the owners will send me a pic if so.

Build what ever you want and put a scented candle on it. Her preference and you should be good.

Reach out to Exquisite Concrete if you are near College station. Stuart, the owner, can whip something up in stained concrete as it's no different than countertops and fish cleaning tables.

I'd like to have concrete (maybe even cantera stone) columns/legs and also use my own roll away chair. Since I hear complaints that the built-in ones have a tough time adjusting height.

Maybe I can save a few bucks just getting the table top slab.

I'll check that concrete trinket company (is it Fraziers?) on the corner of HWY 6 and 290 in Hempstead. Maybe they have some.

Here's one I thought was okay. Small but less intrusive and for what I need, maybe the right size.

Also thanks for the Exquisite Concrete staining reference. That would be a great final touch!

Put your first choice of shooting table out there… but also add a truckload of tacky stuff you pretend to care about but really don't (1 or more animal a$$ wall mounts for example).
