Went on a bachelor party there a few years ago one weekend. Woke up the Saturday morning and one of the door frames at the lodge was messed up and I was worried one of our crew broke it. So I asked one of the guides if that was us.
He told me that a few weekends before us, some big spender brought a bunch of dynamite and they decided to let him set it off by down by the big pond. Apparently it was enough that it blew all the windows and doors of the main lodge out haha. He said that was going to be the last time they'll let people set off explosives.
Another guide said one time some lady from Michigan had never seen a longhorn before so she asked if she could shoot it. They had never been asked that so they told her sure for some ridiculous price and sure enough she shot it and had it mounted.
Not sure if those were tall tales, but they were pretty entertaining and nothing would surprise me at that place. Its a pretty awesome place.
