Wish I could go. If you see the black/lime green company "Schulte" could you stop by and ask what their "two new products" they are announcing/debuting are?

I'm about to buy a 26' batwing mower but the model (5026) has hardly changed in 30 years and it's due for an upgrade with a smooth deck.

Thanks!

BTW: central Texas, cleanup coast Bermuda hayfields, minor amounts of Johnsongrass that I hope to remediate soon, so it will have some junk to cut but mostly clean fields that I don't let get out of control.

I work for Alamo Group Inc.
Schulte is one of our companies on our Ag side, along with Bush Hog and Rhino Ag. Shoot me an email and I will get you connected. jgentry@alamo-group.com

Wow. Glad I don't have to buy that! I thought my 15' JD was expensive. I can only imagine.

Amen to that! It has a reputation of being a good beast though.

Also, shout out to jrichgent! Within a short time today he connected me with a VP at Schulte who was involved in the development of this model and gave me the lowdown on the workings of it. TexAgs is incredible!

That looks like a nightmare to maintain and repair. How would you even keep the deck clean after mowing?
Would not want more than 3 sets of blades like on a 15 or 20 ft mower.

26' is nothing compared to their 30' and 42'. Schulte is known as being one of if not the best (you see these on airports and highway contractors) and there's a reason they can command such a price. Who knows, maybe I'll have a different opinion once mine comes in.

Schulte also makes auxiliary fans to keep them clean but the sales rep said that a leaf blower hitting it every now and then does just fine.

The more blades typically the better as long as the gear boxes are as good as what they say they are (Bondioli & Pavesi gearbox and driveline system on it out of Italy). Some of their models have 3 vs 5 blades even on the same width. The 5 blades actually work less and cut better and will balance out a longer life.

Yeah I would wait for the upgrade with a smooth deck. Like the one on the JD cx 15 or cx 20.

Not sure about parts out of Italy. I'm over a year waiting on parts for a Kuhn hay rake valve body which come from France iirc. Kuhn reps don't have an answer…. It's going to an auction this spring Lesson learned.

I saw the discussions on HayTalk about Kuhn having parts issues but it appears that's more related to Kuhn? The have opened a portal for you to directly check availability.

I clean my 15' with a Stihl blower after every use. It works great for that.
I wouldn't think it would much more maintenance than a three blade. It's just two more shafts and gear boxes and 4 blades more.
I'll bet it cuts great. Schulte is the gold standard on rotary cutters for sure.

Is Schulte going to have problems with the 2025 tariff's going on? Parts still going to be readily available? I sell a bunch of them and am just curious.
