I usually take a small backpack with me to the deer blind. It has extra ammo, binocs. Maybe a grunt call. Roll of TP and a set of gloves. Stocking cap if it's cold. Sometimes it has rattling antlers.

Is this a kill bag that you speak of?

I have a large tuna sized bag I carry offshore if that's what you mean. Folds up compact inside a hatch. Supposed to work best if you fill it with the already cold fish from your cooler rather than putting hot fish in it.

Those tyoe of offshore ice bags have been around forever. Works for tuna, wahoo, swordfish, kingfish, Mahi Mahi, huge ling etc for tournament fishing. Otherwise gotta be purdy big to not fit in my fish box....

I used them mostly just to bring my fish to weigh in. I sold all of mine since then.

yes, I am talking about the cooler bags designed for game. I am sure they aren't as great as an ice chest on time, but for shorter trips with enough ice, it would fit in the back of the truck with bed cover closed a lot easier.

They have great reviews

Those should be much lighter and cheaper than a Yeti 350.

price is high, but I see the benefit of it.

Best use for me would be space in truck and storage space at home. I could see a use for this as a second cooler for deer trips, without the need to bring a second big cooler or having to store another big cooler in the garage year round. I have one big cooler for my trips, but sometimes if we have a bunch of people hunting, we will run out of space. I would use this as an overflow cooler. Place deer in main cooler on ice, and when full move already chilled deer quarters to this portable bag, and then add new deer parts to main cooler. Or use the smaller bag to put meat in a separate cooler for meat you may process yourself (backstraps) vs dropping off at a processer.

Looks like it has a drain, which is good. As long as deer leg cut ends dont puncture the inside, I see this as a good product.
