Nope but had friends who recently elk hunted there. They said highest grizz concentration in lower 48. Take your spray and have a plan to deal with your food/fish.

I've fished some alpine lakes and caught some trout, but it wasnt really a full blown fishing trip. Beautiful country though.

My dad and I did a pack trip into the Bob Marshall in 1993/1994 when I was a senior in high school. One of the best trips we have ever taken together. Unreal scenery. Fishing was decent but admittedly I wasn't into fishing as much as a kid. Riding the continental divide on a horse is something special.

I have fished Hungry Horse and the Flathead above, also packed in 25 miles all along the river for elk hunting. I would never elk hunt that area again but I would damn sure enjoy what your talking about doing the river is stunning through there and the fishing is great.

Here is link to one outfitter that packs in and floats out.

Bears. I would not worry about the bears one bit. Problems with them are way over dramatized.

There is an outfit that has cabins & horses very close to the meadow creek trailhead but I can't recall the name.

I will update with some pics of the river you would be floating on if doing the south fork.

You can legally fish for bull trout on the South Fork of the Flathead above Hungry Horse with a special permit. Just be careful and look at regs beforehand. North Fork is awesome fishing too. Most all alpine lakes will crush, would recommend end of July and into August. Lots of bears but no problem with the right precautions.
