I cannot wait!!
We are heading down Friday to set up the trailer, get the cows out of the bottom pasture(uncle doing that tomorrow), and count deer. We will bring a rifle but this weekend is mostly about getting a plan together on what we want to kill. My guess is it will be one buck and two doe again just like the previous couple of years but you never know.
We have a really good consistent healthy herd of doe that quite literally never leave the bottom pasture. Maybe a little but not much. Most sedentary herd of doe I have ever seen. There are actually two groups of them, probably 20 or so in each group. One group goes up to the top but the other just never leaves. And they are scared ****less of people. It was fun hunting them before I put a blind up. But if we don't see the right buck we can shoot four doe
We do not plant or run feeders or anything like that. But we have several dozen pasture oaks and pecans that keep them relatively planted. And the river. We also don't run any cameras so we will see.
