The most famous bear in Yellowstone/Tetons. She was 28, the oldest known bear still reproducing. She was famous around the world because she had made it so long, and was often in populated areas so lots and lots of people saw her and she was filmed and photographed a ton.
But even at 28 it wasn't old age, she was hit by a car. Had a yearling with her this year even when she was hit. 18 cubs overall over the years, certainly did her part to bring the species back.

That sucks. It scares the hell out of me when I unexpectedly hit a pothole while driving down the freeway. Pretty sure I would literally shat myself, if I hit a grizzly bear.

All those years in all those natural elements and then to be hit by a friggin car.
