Need recommendations for good flashlight that is midsized - what's your favs?

My favorite flashlight is a headlamp. Black diamond typically in sierra trading post. I like ones with a locking mechanism so they don't get turned on in your pocket or bag.

I use the petzl tikka. Has 3 levels plus red and it's tiny

I have a Nebo Mycro 400. Rechargeable. Superlightweight. Red and Green. Has a strap that is easily removable to clip it to a cap bill.

Agree , headlamp. Whatever brand you like

The best flashlight is always the one I left in the truck.

I have a few Black diamond and petzels I keep in my backpack and truck. Both brands work great

But normally if I want something stronger at the ranch than a headlamp I'm using a spotlight.

You could take a deep dive into Nitecore. Their selection for thrown vs spread light options are legit. Mid-range in price as compared to more popular brands like streamlight or surefire.

Hunting at night with shots at pigs from 100 yards or more, the throw (focused down range beam) would be something to consider.

Setting up a large decoy spread, the spread or coverage area would be your focus.

I like my hands free and favor a headlight as well.

I know you said midsized but..... I have this small one that I really like. Very bright and it has a memory switch so you don't need to cycle through the modes to turn it off and on.

I also prefer the headlamp, but the Nebo is interesting since it has a cap clip.

Streamlight microstream USB rechargeable. I figure these days everyone has a cell phone charger readily available,

Petzl Tactica, PrincetonTec Byte, and Streamlight Sidewinder is what I recommend. Night vision helps too :P

I grabbed this one after saw one on a deer hunt. It has been fantastic. Charging is annoying as you have to take the batteries out to do so, but it's worth it.
