Anyone have one of these in use?
Wraith Mini Thermal

Curious about actual field use commnets.
I have an older FLIR, wanting to add another thermal, but hesitant to go the $4+ route.

I do not have direct experience with the Wraith but I do have a lot of experience with other thermals. I will say that SightMark doesnt have the best reputation regarding QC and durability. This is based on witnessing numerous models of their sights fail during hunting trips and competitions.

In that budget(4k) I would advise taking a look at Pulsar, iRay or possibly a used Nvision or Trijicon. iRay and Pulsar get the nod from me when it comes to warranty and company reputation. Nvision and Trijicon are stalwarts regarding quality too.

Under 4K: Pulsar or iRay. Over: Nvision, Eotech, Trijicon, Teledyne, etc

AGM is a decent brand to consider in the sub $4k category as well

I have one that I got earlier this spring. Depends on what you want to use it for.

I've used it handheld in the field, mounted on my AR (hogs) , mounted on an Air Rifle (rats), and even mounted on an airsoft gun for some training.

It gets the job done for my uses and budget. you can get them for $1,700 right now.

I have no reservations about using on hog sized targets inside 200 yards. I have a high dollar QD mount that works "ok" for moving between guns.

Do you like buying cr123 batteries? Because you will with the wraith. An extra $1000 to get a thermal that uses rechargeable batteries is a lot but the convenience of only having to worry if you recharged the battery is worth quite a bit.

Disclaimer: satisfied pulsar talion owner with 2 proprietary rechargeable batteries.

eta, thermals definitely fall into the buy once cry once category.
