How long do you want to ignore this user?
I live in the CS area and now teach at TAMU. My husband recently passed away. He had many hobbies over the years, several of which were related to bass fishing. He poured plastic to make baits, used rod blanks to make rods, and painted lures. I have the materials he used for all of these activities and need to find new homes for them. Any suggestions?

First off: welcome to the Outdoors Board!
Secondly: I'm sorry for your loss. Sounds like your husband would have fit right in here.

Take some pictures and post them up here (upload the pics to a hosting service like Imgur, then post the links). We have lots of members who might be interested.

I used to pour my own baits. It was super fun! Always wanted to build my own rod someday.

If you are looking for help valuing these things - looking up what the equipment sells for new doesn't really give you a good ballpark. Approaching it as just wanting the stuff gone and to be used will liekly land you in a better spot. Just my humble opinion.

We have lots of very honest people here. If you post pictures and ask for help pricing the items, we will give you honest opinions (not trying to lowball and take advantage of you). I would be surprised if someoen doesn't make you a fair offer as well.

cupofjoe hit the nail on the head. start with some photos

my son is starting a high school fishing team in the spring and has dabbled in making his own lures. I know he'd be interested in the molds. THey can vary from really cheap where you heat the plastic in microwave and simply pour into the mold to ones that are enclosed that have a little hole on the end where you have to take a syringe and squeeze in melted plastic which obviously are more expensive

So sorry for the loss of your husband. I can't add anything that has not already been said.
Lots of good folks on this board that can help you.

I also have a son who just joined a bass fishing team. He eats, sleeps, and breaths fishing!

I'll be in CS this weekend if you want us to stop by. Happy to pay you what you think would be fair. Just PM me or reply directly to this message.

So sorry for your loss.

I would reach out to the Wildlife and Fisheries Dept, and see if they can help you find a student source that would really enjoy and make use of the materials.

That's just my opinion, but Professor John Jackman passed way mid-semester when we were teaching fly-fishing/fly tying together. The department ended up canceling the class but did listen to me when I suggested finding good homes for all the materials.
