I'm getting absolutely drained of blood if I step out of my house. What can I spray to kill them and at least make my back patio bearable in the evening?

Property buts up to an irrigation canal so there will be standing water for a while.

Pump up sprayer and bifen?
Fogger?
Something else?

Pls help, Chester has almost gotten carried away a couple of times

Cutter makes a spray bottle of some fogger that kills on contact. Maybe spray it around the porch, then let it clear out before you go outside?

I've been using one for a few weeks, and it's made a huge difference. Took about a week before I noticed any change, but I wouldn't go without it now.

Black flag fogger works well. I have two mosquito magnets that run all summer. Makes a huge difference. When the mosquito population increases, I'll fog the yard occasionally to knock them down. Then thermacell wherever I'm sitting.

Here at Richland Chambers, I use Bifen (1-2oz per gallon of water) applied with a backpack fogger (link). I also mix in some ExciteR (for immediate knock down) and sometimes add some Pivot 10 IGR when conditions are super bad, like last year.

One fogging is effective for 4-6 weeks. After that, you'll want to reapply. I've been doing this for the past two years and I'm happy with the results. Once the initial investment is made in the fogger (and a full face respirator for good measure), the cost isn't that bad. The chemicals go a long way.

You can always fall back on malathion, https://www.epa.gov/mosquitocontrol/malathion
Just don't spray chester.

This. Our homeowners association hires a guy to drive the neighborhood streets late at night and he has a mosquito fogger in the back of his truck.
Our county precinct does the same at the ranch. Tandy should ask his county commissioner.
Occasionally we will get the crop duster to spray our headquarters area if they are really bad and are doing a spray job for us already. The local crop dusters also spray the entire county at night when hired to do so.

This. The xts is oil based and will last longer. Spray trees, bushes, fences, gutters, yard etc. Gives me weeks of relief . Avoid your flowers if you like to save the bees

I got a three pack of mini rechargeable bug zappers for Father's Day. They work really well at night anyway. Haven't tried them during the day. Something like these.

If the wind isn't too bad (early morning or evening) what about hitting them with one of these? Again, it would probably take several applications day after day...

Dragonflies eat mosquitos!

Try these out and report back to us if they actually work
https://www.getyourbug.com/

They say you can get a dragonfly fly fishing fly and put it on a clip and wire and it looks more realistic.

I use the cutter backyard bug spray that you hook up to the hose. Just used it a couple of days ago. Thousands of dead mosquitoes laying on the ground the next morning, no problems since.

In my experience, it usually lasts for a couple of months

My wife bought these but I never saw any bodies and we didn't see any reduction in the mosquito population. I have used propane powered Cutter insecticide in area that harbored plenty of mosquitos but it didn't help much. What did help was using a hose end sprayer with insecticide in those areas.

Now we're using these. I can see plenty of bodies and we seem to have a significant reduction in our mosquito population. Its the old fan trick.

We are staying in a beach house this week near Crystal beach and have used this. It works really well. The mosquitos down here are brutal.

Read this thread the other day, and ordered some Bifen to also wage war on the mosquitoes here in Houston. Is it ok to apply it while the soil is wet? It's sprinkling here at the house still, but we're leaving in the AM for the weekend and I'd like come back home and not have to deal with as many.

If you don't want the nasty malathion smell, use permethrin. I buy a 39% concentrate and use bottle sprayer attached to the hose. I have to cover 1.25 acres but it works great. Usually need two applications, one in late spring and once more early summer. No mosquitos.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

Staying with friends at their place in Bolivar a couple months ago. They kept a small but powerful shop vac next to the front door and anytime someone went in or out, she was there sucking them out of the air.
