Burner phones

Someone suggested the outdoors board for this instead of their nurdery so here goes.

Reading about the possible use of burner phones by the burnt orange low life coaching…

I could make use of a burner phone in my court case trying to get full custody (my step grandkids). Without going into details, if anyone is interested in enlightening me your input is certainly appreciated.

Needs:
1. As absolutely untraceable as possible. Even if her attorney gets a search warrant, it is very, very unlikely to do them any good? (I suspect that the ex's boyfriend is dealing drugs and the police don't seem to be interested so I thought I could try to form a sting that would not get me in trouble)
2. If my regular phone bull were subpoenaed, there would have to be absolutely no link to the burner phone number.
3. I suppose it would be stupid to purchase this phone anywhere near where I live (I know this may sound paranoid, but I don't care).
4. Can I both buy a cheap phone that has access to the Internet through data and a Sim card card at the same time? I guess my idea is paying cash for the inexpensive phone and the Sim card at the same time utilizing prepaid minutes.
5. Would Walmart be the place to go or do I need to go to some convenience store that sells CBC products along with it lol
6. I would most definitely like to be able to receive verification text using the equipment I have.
7. I really don't wanna waste time discussing exactly why I have this plan and right or wrong. I suspect 80% of input into this thread with involve curiosity.

I apologize in advance if this seems too demanding, I just know some people will naturally out of curiosity want to hold a conversation that I don't have patience for. We probably just need to hire a private detective, but they are awful pricey. I am frustrated and disgusted that it's come down to this, but it is what it is.

Also make sure you're not using it in places you frequent as well as carrying your personal phone with the burner phone.

You probably want to get a beater car too since most cars with a gps system could be tracked to your visited locations as well and if they can ping the burner phone and link the location to your vehicle, well….

1. Have friend take you to Walmart
2. Leave normal phone at home
3. Buy burner phone with cash
4. Just text the ex boyfriend from burner phone that you are a young female who wants to buy drugs and that you moonlight as a stripper cop. You have a whole setup that looks super legit, so don't be alarmed if it looks like a cop is showing up to his house.
5. Offer that you'll come to his house and give him a stripper show, sex and cash for drugs.
6. After he agrees on a time, call police from burner phone as a concerned neighbor and ask them to do a well check at ex boyfriends house. Tell them you know this neighbor has trust issues with men in authority and it would diffuse the situations and not trigger her for it to be a female cop.
7. Throw away burner phone
8. ???????

Wouldn't you be better off hiring a PI?

Anything you find out would likely do you no good in a court if it's untraceable/unprovable. And, if you go down this road and miss one tiny detail, you are tied to an activity you don't want to be (for legal reasons I'm assuming). You have already posted about it on an online forum, I'm assuming not from a sock account and an untraceable computer. So… there's always a trail.

Hire a pro and let them do their work. If the idiot ex-bf is doing/dealing drugs, it shouldn't be that hard to track down some proof.

Or- just go with the OB standard SSS

This is not my area of expertise, I just watch the TV.

But it sure seems like just buying a prepaid phone is not as easy as you might think. The guys from ebay that got busted harassing the couple who ran a blog critical of ebay bought their burner phones with gift cards and still got caught.

The gift cards were "traced" somehow and they got video footage for the purchase that way. I know you said cash for the purchase but it is my suspicion that the big retailers are also tracking the individual phone when it is sold. Or in other words when someone scans the barcode on the phone the individual phone number is known as being sold under that specific transaction. So cash yeah but they might know when THAT phone was sold and hold a record that can be compared to store video. So the trick would seem to be getting a trusted or unknown to you third party to purchase the phone.

And possibly worth considering would be to install something similar to Whatsap to make the calls not the cell service you just paid for on the burner phone.

In case you can't read the main idea from all these posts, I am going to make it simple. This is a bad idea. If you don't already know how to do this, you are out of your league on this. I have no doubt you are smart and successful in your career, but you have obviously no experience in their area. They will beat you with experience and you will end up way worse off than you started. Life isn't the movies. Stay on the up and up. Hire a PI and a good lawyer. This is the area where these guys are weak. Beat them this way.

What you need is a CB radio. My Uncle Wayne has one in his van. He keeps a mattress back there too. I'm pretty sure you can do everything on one of them that you can do on a burner phone. They're real private too because I don't think most people know about them yet.

Go to the App Store on your iPhone and download an App called Burner. Read the fine print before using. Your mileage may vary.

Its possible that he wasn't using a "burner phone" in the sense that you see it in Jason Bourne movies.

It very well could have been an Iphone 15 or an Android....but....not his official university issued/office/business phone. Those are subject to FOIA searches/request.

So, he could have just been using a "regular" phone that was just in someone else's name or off of the books.
