Movers jacked up my grill in a recent move so I got money for the grill. Looking at Webber 3 burner genesis but I know that the griddles have gotten real popular. Figured I'd reach out here to get y'all's opinions on the two options.

Man, get both if you like the gas grill. Really each one has its place but if you like gas keep it, but I'd still seriously consider adding the griddle and not making it an either or thing.

Another option is to buy some grill grates for burgers and such. No help on pancakes but you get the griddle effect.

We use this thing on our charcoal grill a lot.

I love my Blackstone and use it twice as much as my old 3 burner since the surface is so large I can put eggs, bacon, hash browns & pancakes all at the same time. Smash burgers are awesome on the Blackstone and because of the size I put the fries on there too---put the fries on first.

I also have a traditional Weber charcoal for grilling that I use with a chimney starter. If you get a Blackstone make sure you get one with a lid.

Get yourself a camp chef and you can take the flattop off, throw on the grates and you got a gas grill.

I have a Steelmade flat top insert for my gas grill. Best of both worlds.

Get a nice gas grill, and then the biggest blackstone you are comfortable with space/cost wise. You will NOT regret either.

The make a griddle top that sits in the 3 burner genesis now

OP, just went through this decision process. Ended up getting a Weber grill. The Blackstone seems neat, but at the end of the day I needed something that would grill steak, pork chops, fajitas, sausage, etc.

I'd get the new Weber griddle and get a Weber Kettlte for the times you want to grill with fire. The griddle is way more versatile and things like burgers and steak are much better seared on a flat top than cooked on gas.

I do the same but throw it on top of my weber gas grill, works good

I got rid of my griddle and webt back to gas grill. Too much work keeping it cleaned and seasoned if you don't use it multiple times a week. Gas grill is much easier. If I got another griddle it would be small enough to scrub in the sink and stick in the oven to season.

How would you keep it from smoking out your house seasoning in the oven? Serious inquiry.

My experience is that my griddle is the easiest thing to clean and maintain I own, by far. And I don't use it multiple times per week. Sometimes a month or two between uses. With a proper season it holds up well. If it's been a few weeks, I'll wipe it down with a light coat of oil and burn that off while the griddle warms up. Takes 30 seconds extra. Other than that, I just scrape it and spray some water while it's hot, and give it a wipe down if needed. No different than what I do with a grill or smoker.

Just my .02. YMMV

Grilla primate is a combo grill so you get both a griddle and gas grill all in one, has good reviews from bbq lab online.

I think humidity makes a big difference. Mine would get moldy if I put a cover on it or rusty very easily if I didn't keep it perfectly clean and seasoned. Lots of scraping, wiping, oiling, and heating before and after each use.

Thanks for all the inputs. Think I'm gonna go with the Webber and the skillet insert that supposedly doesn't require seasoning.
