I have been looking for a gas grill and have come down to these 2. Cost difference is negligible. The Spirit II has a 10 year full warranty and the Spirit I has a 2-5yr on most critical parts. The Spirit II, however, does not have the big grease tray bottom that can be lined with foil like the Spirit I has. The Spirit II just has a channeled bottom of the main body to a small grease pan. Cleaning the channeled body looks difficult as opposed to lining the removable tray/bottom on the Spirit I.

The Spirit II warranty is a big deal to me, but being able to basically line a tray in foil on the entire bottom of the Spirit I seems like a big feature. Please help me decide…..

Weber still makes quality stuff comparatively speaking

You will be fine either way. My Weber is right at 10 years old & still works & looks like new. I deep clean it at the start of summer & keep it covered. Do those two things & it will last a long time.
