Is there a decent one you can buy from Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, etc.? I bought some Weed B Gone and that stuff sucks. You can pour half the bottle on one weed and it just wilts then perks right back up a few days later.

Speedzone isn't bad. Or you can buy some Crossbow.

It's getting hot, out there. Be careful. Once you start getting up around 90 degrees, probably better to stick with spot application. You go blanketing your yard with it, and you're likely to stress it.

Stuff gets harder to kill as it matures (now, vs. Mar/April). Higher concentrations, higher heat, more stress on non-target stuff.

I've generally had good luck with Weed B Gone for your run of the mill broadleaf weeds that 2,4-D will handle. Apply it at the rate it calls for, use some surfactant (dawn dish soap works well) and I try to spray in the evenings right before sundown so it doesn't cook off.

I just want something for spot application. I don't want to do my entire yard. It is mostly for joints in the concrete drive and walk and the rock landscaping around my house.

That makes sense. I have been doing it during the day. I will try the evenings and see how that works.

I get Amine 400 from my local feed store and it works great

Any total vegetation killer will work. RM48 (red bottle at TSC) works well, so does Gordon's total vegetation killer. And roundup.

If you're just spraying in the rocks/driveway cracks, quit screwing with the weed killer, and either get straight-up glyphosate, or some glyphosate/imazapyr (RM43, Round-up Extended Control, etc).

Don't put this on anything in the lawn. You'll kill surrounding grass, and possibly keep anything from growing in that spot for 6-12 months.

RM43. It'll kill it.

Will that kill trees? I'm trying to get my dort circles around my trees back but don't want to hurt the trees.

The imazapyr would best be avoided, if you're spraying right around trees. The glyphosate isn't a problem (little to no soil activity). Just don't spray on the tree. It'll kill grass AND weeds.

Clethodim (Grass Out Max) also works good for killing grasses right around trees/shrubs/flower beds. It'll kill "grasses" (but won't kill broadleaf weeds or flowers or shrubs) (it's made to kill grasses out of flowerbeds, without killing flowers/shrubs).

Glyphosate it is. I think ill get a glove and rub it on plants that are too close.

In high school, I worked with some TAMU professor maintaining a local subdivisions "native grassland" areas. They all looked like weeds to me, but my job was to walk through acres of 4-5' tall grasses during summer months and kill stuff like Johnsongrass and Bermuda….junk like that. This professor, I can't remember his name Dr. Weinstein or some such, basically had me walk around with glyphosate at 10x dilution rates, with a rubber glove over my hand and a cotton glove over the rubber glove and you'd dip your hand in the glyphosate and then grab a hand full of target plant leaves and swipe them through your fingers.

It was a terrible job but it paid alright and I got to be alone and not messed with so it was cool. Anyway, your idea reminds me of this. That was almost 30 years ago. Lol.

I didn't think RM48 sounded right, but couldn't remember either and wasn't going to look it up.

That stuff works if you want anything it touches to die. Good stuff.

Tried some weed killer made out of white vinegar and Dawn dish soap earlier this week.

Didn't do **** and looks like it made the weeds stronger.

Tired of messing around with this. Got rock on the side of the house and need something just short of turning it into a superfund site where nothing will grow there.

Tired of of messing around with it.

Definitely RM43 for this, if you wanna kill it and see nothing else for 6-12 months.

The vinegar will "top kill" weeds and grass, but doesn't kill the roots. Most stuff will come back when using it.
