All, hoping someone can help me with this. My budget limit is in the $600 range. Looking at the Spirit E-310 or E-210. I really don't understand the difference between the Spirit and Spirit II lines - is the door to hide the propane tank the only difference for the extra $50? Do the big box stores put these on sale around Father's Day? Thanks in advance!

Not sure which model I have, but I've been really satisfied with it, and have replaced various burner components on it with ease. Whatever you do, buy a cover. Even under a covered patio, I think it helps.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

I've got the 310 bargain model and it does everything I do. Beer chicken, fajitas, a quick ribeye, grilled veggies. I did not get the doors, and it doesn't seem to affect the flavor.

I have a Genesis. It's definitely bigger and more heavy duty but the spirit is a solid grill. My dad has a spirit II e310 and I like it. Cooks well. I kinda prefer the styling of the original spirit with the enclosed cabinet but it really doesn't matter.

There will probably be some sales over the next few holidays. I think we got my dad's memorial day for Father's day.

I looked at the Spirit and Spirit II side by side at the store and went with the original. Looked like the II was the same thing just with less metal and more plastic. Seemed to me like they were just pinched on material/inflation and made the non-essential parts cheaper?

I have the genesis. Had for over 10 years. Be sure to register with Weber. Their customer service is excellent and part replacement is very easy. I've only replaced the burners and flame covers, all free of charge since under warranty. Grates, and body of the grill have held up excellent, and i usually forget to re cover it.

Honest question, if you're willing to spend $600 on a propane grill, why not just go with a pellet? It will do everything a propane grill will and more. I don't know why I'd ever go back to a propane after having the pellet for as long as I have.

Or charcoal grill..

Charcoal is different than pellet and propane though. Pellet and propane are just pushing buttons and turning dials, but a pellet can do everything a propane can with the ability for a lot more.

I did think about a pellet grill, but I have a big offset smoker I use for briskets and such. Just looking for a propane for quick grilling steaks, chicken, etc.

Look on FB Marketplace and your money will go a lot further. There are always perfectly good Webers for under $300. The great thing is Weber's Customer Service is so good your grill will last forever.

Well, after all the replies and a bunch more reading, I think I am going with the Spirit II E210. There is more plastic on it, but with a better warranty (10yr all parts) and $50 cheaper, seems like a better deal. Have read Webers never go on sale, but I think I am going to hold out until Memorial Day and Father's Day just to see.

The Spirit II E-210 is a great grill. I bought one for my son and his roommates and we'll cook together when I'm visiting in CS. I've got a Genesis and don't think I've ever needed all the square inches of the grilling surface so I burn more propane and it takes up more space. I think you'll be very happy with the Spirit

I've had my Genesis for 10 years. I love it. Webers are great.

Pretty sure Funky is talking about the Masterbuilt

It does everything a pellet Add charcoal set temp for 220 and it will burn for 10-14 hours with maybe ahalf of bag of charcoal But the bigger model are more than 800 i think

Replace the crappy "flavorizer bars" that sit above the burners with some from Amazon made of stainless.

The Weber bars are rough on the surface and actually trap grease/runoff and catch on fire like you would no believe. When I first bought mine, I had to keep a watch on it at all times or it would flair up and burn my food.

Switched over to stainless burner covers and no more flames.

Agree. I actually inherited mine and replaced with SS flavor bars. Ended up replacing burner assembly and control console at a later date. All easy to do.
