We've got 5 Beefmaster heifers we need to get a bull on in the near future. We had planned to take them up to my dad's south of Fort Worth because they've got a good heifer bull but decided we'd rather find something around us (Crosby).

Anyone have a good heifer bull available for lease for 3 months or so? Preferably something black, but red would work as well. Would rather avoid the Waygu or Longhorn route.

Not against driving but would prefer to keep it in the 2 or 2.5 hour range.

I know you said you wanted to avoid Longhorn and this is kind of along the same lines. Lots of people around here use black Corriente bulls to throw on heifers. That's what my grandfather always did. We never had to pull calves. If you have anybody that raises team roping cattle around you, they will most definitely have a corriente bull.

The black 'iente bulls over black angus heifers make for a nice calf.

This calf will be 4 weeks old this Wednesday. Born March 27 to this 2 year old Beefmaster (not registered) heifer.

Edit to add: Charolais cross calf laying on ground in the pic, was born Jan. 8th., sired by same registered Beefmaster bull.
