I'm recovering from surgery so unfortunately I'm not outdoors. I have been reading multiple history books (Lonestar A history of Texas & Texans, 3 years among the Comanche, The Texas Rangers: A century of frontier defense Etc…) and needed a break from reading.

I started watching this show and found it to be entertaining. The first episode is about Daniel Boone, the second is Lewis & Clark. It beats most of the current crap on TV other than Aggie Baseball. If you are incapacitated like me give it a chance.

Read "blood and thunder", Hampton Sides if you haven't. Exceptional history of Santa Fe and NM and highlights Kit Carson.

While I haven't listened to this. It sounds right up your alley.

Another plug for Hampton Sides. His book on the assassination of MLK Jr and the ensuing hunt for James Earl Ray, "Hellhound on His Trail," is very good.

+1 on Hampton Sides. Blood and Thunder is phenomenal, so is "In the Kingdom of Ice".

I love this series. Watched it a few times. Good history lesson and good acting for a documentary type show.

Highly recommend listening to The Meateater's The Longhunters audiobook.
