Making good progress on the weed front. Hoping I finally have the buttonweed under control. But one section of yard is covered up in blue grass.

Any ideas or nuke it all and lay some sod?

It's going to die when the weather warms up so it depends on how patient you are. Some herbicides may speed the process up but I'd just keep mowing it and let nature do its thing at this point.

Thanks, same problem last year. I'm catching the grass on that section to help reduce the seeds. Anything I can do to keep them from sprouting next year?

Mow a few times a week to keep seed heads from forming. Next year in Oct time frame put down a pre-emergent. I would make two applications thirty days apart. Nature is on your side as it will go away shortly.

Thanks, since I took the lawn back from the crew I've put Barricade down last fall and this spring. It's working well except for the blue grass. I didn't do a second application 30 days later. I'll add it next round.

Still have some nutsedge to kill, though it's much better since the Sedgehammer last year. Need to do it again.

Back to back drought, a lawn crew that neglected the weed killer and fertilizer, brought in every invasive weed and grass you can think of. I've saved the front yard with some re sodding in one section.

The entire backyard is now Bermuda. It used to be San Augustine. It's not horrible but I'm curious when did this variety of Bermuda come to Houston? Growing up no Bermuda would survive. My guess is the last neighborhood they put in close by used this Bermuda. I see it in their common spaces. The fired lawn crew must have brought it in. It's everywhere in my neighborhood now.

You may be in luck - Image for Nutsedge will theoretically kill the bluegrass too. Bought some yesterday and am waiting for my grass to dry before applying.
