It did say an error occurred.

Today, me and a few of my coworkers took a helicopter tour to Everest Basecamp. Unfortunately, after landing at Lukla Airport (the most dangerous in the world), the weather turned and we didn't reach basecamp. We got as far as the Everest View Hotel.

Our ride:

Lukla Airport, the most dangerous in the world. I took some videos of planes taking off and landing. Holy crap! The runway is 1729' and goes uphill.

Absolutely awesome experience, but disappointed that we didn't reach Everest Base Camp.

Awesome pictures! Trips like this really exemplify that expression it's not the destination, it's the journey. Experiences like this are so incredible regardless of where you end up.

An uphill runway seems like it'd help generate lift if you've got the "umph" in the plane to get going.

Downhill for takeoff. Uphill for landing.

Here's a Youtube video from someone showing the takeoff and landing. From the helipad where I was at, some of the planes looked like they fell off the end of the runway. Others had enough lift so I could see them after they left the runway.

Looks awesome. Wife and I are mulling the idea of doing the base camp trek from Lukla in a couple years.

Landing in EBC is not allowed now, after the Plane crash of 2023. It's said to be too dangerous at this time of year. So, no one will be able to land at EBC for a while.

By far one of the coolest experiences we've ever done. Highly rec it to anyone on the fence assuming you dont have altitude related health issues. When you get done, do yourself a favor and go to Bhutan. Such an amazing vibration. We did it back when the other half lived in India.
