Is it just me or are there more skunks than usual in Texas this year? I am seeing them everywhere in the Hill country and dead all over the highways in West Texas.

Yea that. They mating now and on the move. Guess they congregate on hiways.
Same time every year, the skunk rut.
My brother and his boss made a trip from Gatesville to Abilene a couple weeks ago and noticed a lot of skunks on the drive. So on the trip back, they decided to count them all.

We have noticed a huge uptick of skunks at the ranch. Them and coons exploded this past year.

We used to sing that song as kids on road trips but thought the words were different. It's been a few years.
We have one out in our area we can smell every night. It's getting upset about something.

I was driving on a county road in Lavaca county not too long ago - and a skunk runs out of the brush in front of me running along side of the truck. I swerve to not hit him and he sprays the whole side of my truck. It took weeks for the smell to go away
