I have some older model Tecovas and the shank needs to be replaced/repaired.

I've spoken with Tecovas and they essentially said they couldn't do anything with them since they were out of warranty.

I'm located in Midland but have no problem bringing them to Houston on my work trips and having them get shipped back to me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd venture to guess there should be a decent boot repair shop or two in Midland/Odessa. I don't have any recommendations, though.

Unfortunately, they have slowly been closing since Covid (Outlaw's and Rudy's were the original, reputable companies around for awhile).

I've never heard of a boot shank needing to be replaced. It's probably a piece of spring steel. What makes you think it needs to be replaced (just curious). You may try contacting a local custom boot maker in Midland. They probably don't do repairs, but they likely have a good network of boot makers or their apprentices that may do some repair work. It will probably be easier to buy a new pair of Anderson Beans. Then you have access to their re-crafting service. I've used it before and it was great.

Houston Shoe Hospital? They have restored a number of pairs of boots for me and shipped them back to a different city. They have a boots repair section on their website. No idea if they do shanks but they have tackled every boot issue I have thrown at them.

James Leddy boots in Abilene does boot and shoe repair. They're located on Treadaway Street. Al Dos Santos is the owner and a great guy. He bought the business from James Leddy's widow.

I highly recommend their services. They make all my boots and also repair them as needed.

I've used this on a pair of Tecovas in the past. It was quicker than I expected it to be. $150 is more than I remember paying though.

Best shoe guy in Houston for sure is shoe savers @ Kirby and bissonet. 200 ft from Houston shoe hospital. He's won the world cobbling competition twice (only person). It ain't cheap but he's the best.

I'd just buy a new pair, it could cost more to rebuild than what they are worth.

Great Western Boots in Houston does great work. 4.8 stars on yelp. He's not cheap either, but good boot work never is.

Appreciate the help. I'm going to give one of these Houston places while im in town and see what happens.

May end up just ordering another pair like some have suggested.
