Does anyone have a suggestion for a burpless variety that is a good producer? I always have issues with bitterness (despite even watering etc.) and am going to try a burpless this year which are supposed to be less bitter prone. Thanks in advance.

Fresh eating or pickling?

I was always told by old timers that bitterness only comes from leaving on the vine too long. Just try to pick them earlier?

Fresh eating/slicing type. I do pick them fairly small. Not sure why I have had such an issue with the bitterness.

H19 little leaf. Technically a pickling variety but still great for fresh eating. Will produce tons in the right conditions.

The Suyo Long varieties are my favorites for fresh cukes. I have been growing the Palace King variety for the past 8 years or so and really like them.
