I was listening to Gun Talk radio yesterday and they were talking about Smith and Wesson's new lever gun. I find that interesting as well.

I am a traditionalist and like wood furniture on guns. I talked to one of my fellow workers who just got back from Shot Show and he got to mess with this rifle a bit. He said that it has an action that is unbelievably smooth. He said the adjustable trigger was nice also.

I messed around with it at Shot and it felt great. For a factory gun, it was pretty smooth and I can imagine it would be even better with a little polishing.

Bet that thing in 300 blkout and a suppressor is amazingly quiet.

That's exactly what I was thinking. 300 blk definitely the version to get!

He carried about three extra rounds in his shirt pocket in case he got into a gunfight with more than the usual three or four outlaws. I guess a 30 round are mag would throw off the balance of his rifle when he twirled it in dramatic fashion after gunning down an outlaw gang.

I like everything except the internal hammer.

If I had any I would dump the ARs and get those instead.

Interesting. Henry made a lever that can be outlawed in CA, NY and a few other states.

Honestly, it doesn't look that bad at all. Would like to see more than .223 and .300 chamberings. Maybe 6.5G, 6.8 or some of the other AR platform rounds that are better than either .223 or .300.

Would rather see color case hardened over brass, but Henry loves them some brass so that is to be expected.

Case hardened would be nice.

That would defeat the purpose of this gun, as you're not going to get rimmed mag cases to play nice in an AR mag.
