In the process of considering buying the drill planter, I am asking fellow TexAgers for advice/consultation concerning use of the drill planter for no till pasture grass improvement. Specifically, whether it would be wise to only run seed through the planter, or could fertilize be applied via the planter as well.

Gentleman selling this equipment is proving to be a good and fair man, in my communication with him concerning the drill planter. Seems he has fair asking prices and willing to negotiate in the other farming equipment, I encourage other Ags in the market to get in contact with him through OP.

Don't try to run fertilizer through the seed box and cups. Only run fertilizer through a fertilizer attachment

Will also add that I'm a John Deere guy, but that price for the 806 tractor sounds like a steal, unless it is totally worn out. Tractors tend to plateau, as long as they are running. I'd expect $10,000 for a 90hp tractor, if in decent shape.

People look at a new 90hp and it's $40,000 or more, so $10,000 seems reasonable

Was hoping to find a 5 bale single dump round bale trailer in this hay equipment post.

Some good deals in here. Just not what I need. Good luck OP.

I love that I said the price was really low, so they knocked another 10% off

I'm going back to my original guess that it must be in awful shape, or a long way from a farm area, or something

There's retail, pricesd right and need it gone pricing. Let's not assume we know their motivation.

If you buy the drill , 2 pieces of advice.

After using clean it out with a shop vac and air hose.

In storage hang a couple of cattle insecticide ear tags or No Pest Strips inside the seed box to keep mud daubers out. Those nest will break off and jam a drop tube.

As much as a no till drill costs I only ran seed through mine.
Nothing corrosive like fertilizer.

Of course. But I'm not telling them what to do, and I don't care if they sell it for a dollar.

I consider folks here to be my friends, and if a friend was selling a $10,000 asset for $5,000, I'd certainly advise him against it, or at least be curious as to why he values it so low.

Mice are a bigger problem for us than dirt daubers. Thus, I try hard to do what you suggest. Get rid of as much food as possible in anything you don't use for months at a time. Damned mice are miracle workers when it comes to getting into and screwing up anything on a farm.

The 806 was born in 1965 according to the serial number.

My neighbor cam over this afternoon and I had no idea he was shopping for a Bobcat ToolCat. Do you know if perhaps this one is still available? Is the price firm?
