Old Wood from 19th Century Farmhouse

I bought a property in Brenham that has a shed full of wood from the dismantling of a 19th century farmhouse. The previous owner had it taken apart vs just dozing it 20+ years ago. Got a bucket of old hand forged square nails as well. Old doors in the back.

Anyone know of someone who might be interested in taking it off my hands? I figure someone who works with old wood would be interested. I just want to unload the old shed to use it for something else.

I'll post a few pictures. Got more but will just post a few.

I see some beaded ceiling in there. There is a market for that.

You may want to try these guys out. They buy and sell this all the time: https://www.buybarnwood.com/

They made our fireplace mantel.

Tekton Timber out of College Station might be interested in it. They make tables, mantles etc out of old and new timber.

JD I have a forgotten friend who does reclaiming of old wood just like this. The problem is he went crazy during Covid and I had to move away an on. But if you don't sell this in a few days I'll contact him.

Man some of that would be super cool to use as the roost poles in the chicken coop I am doing.

Wel, not sure if it's worth much yet. I think I'll crawl through there this week and take a closer look at some of it.

Thanks. I spoke to him and he said "someone will definitely want it, just not me." Lol.

FYI My guy used to get the wood free for dismantling the barn which had became an eyesore. Your wood is stacked and ready to haul. It can be valuable after milling. My guy has a full service milling shop

I'm interested if it isn't spoken for. I'm an apprentice wood worker and my mentor is one of the best in Texas.
We could definitely use this stuff and make some awesome stuff.

All I have to offer is that I miss a lot of aspects of living in Washington County. We bought near Independence in 2008 and sold in 2017. There was a hand dug well on that place and I found a very old cotton scale in the dirt there.

Consider me in line. We do a good bit of residential remodeling & new construction in the area and are always looking for old-growth wood for special projects. I'd bring hands over to load it. My place is in Brenham too.

I can't pick up all of it, but could use some for a bathroom remodel if any is still available.

I can't believe it's been nearly 24 hours and 20 responses and nobody has said it so I will:

Your mom works with old wood.

I have an old hand-dug week close to this shed. I'm thinking of building a stone base and an old well pulley on there. It just has an old culvert blocking it now.

Helping the elementary school with a hog panel fence if you need to clear that stuff out too.

We buy a lot of expensive stuff from these guys in Fredericksburg. I can't believe what some of our customers are willing to pay for it.

They will probably come buy it from you at a good rate being they don't have to tear it down and harvest it themselves. They buy whole barns all over the US and go harvest them.

Do you have any old flooring in there? I have to replace 120-200 sf of pine in my 130 year old house.
