Been looking for 6mm Remington, specifically 100-grain Core Lokt, and cant find any. For the not-available or out-of-stock listings online, I see prices ranging from $2-$3/round. Anybody know what is going on here?

After this latest covid ammo fiasco, I don't think you'll see a box of hunting rifle ammo below $20/bx no matter the caliber. Manufacturers saw what people paid, and likely won't change price. A new baseline has been set.

I wish I knew. If you find some let me know, not many of us shooting this rifle any more, so the ammo is hard to come by. Or ridiculously expensive.

The rare box of 6mm Remington I do find available is $40-$55/box. For 20 measly rounds.

I'll sell you a custom 98 Mauser 6mm and all my ammo. $500.

I love the gun, tired of trying to find ammo and don't have the time to reload for it.

Here is your answer.

Otherwise you might as well start complaining that you can't get a box of .218 Bee at the country store for $12 like the good old days. 6mm remington is rare, and has been for awhile.

As the trend towards more new cartridges being introduced every year continues, more old favorites, like the 6mm are bound to go this route.

And it didn't help that the 6mm started its life as a redundant cartridge either.

Alternatively- rebarrel to 7x57 and enjoy shooting for less than a $1 / cartridge.

Until the 7x57 becomes too old and boring for the public to want ammo for. How many new 7mm cartridges have come out in the past few years? There was a thread here just the other day about the 7mm PRC, another solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

Heck you're lucky to find .22-250 on a big box store shelf these days.

Same goes for .222.

7x57 isn't going anywhere. The sheer number of milsurps provides sufficient demand for new production. It may not be a popular as it once was but it will stick around.

This. It's over 125 years old. It's here to stay. It's a great option for a standard long action and bolt face. Mild recoil and easy ammo access.

Call Plinkers in Brenham, they carry lots of hard to find ammo.

That's a good resource and I will bookmark it for future use and other calibers. Unfortunately they don't have the specific kind of 6mm I was looking for. I'm trying to match the ammo I already have, and with which my rifle is already sighted-in.

Its starting to look like I'll just have to wait until Remington finally does another production run of 6mm.

I have a 6mm Remington as well. Ammo has been a challenge since Covid. We always used the Remington core locks as well. I finally switched to Winchester. Now I can't find Remington or Winchester. Just ordered Hornady from Scheels. Hoping it will be as accurate as the others. I shoot the Hornady SST's in my 30-06 with great results. I always sight-in my rifles before the beginning of deer season anyway.

If anyone is near BCS, I have a handful of Hornady 6mm rounds I'll pass to someone else. I don't remember exactly what I have. My Mohawk 600 hates them and I'm going back to hand loading for it.

My dad has a Mohawk too. Last time I saw some, I bought several boxes. Great gun. I haven't seen anything in a store in ages.

That is not true. I have it on good authority that White House Staff has brought in a geologist and a medical doctor to review flash cards in the Oval Office specifically geared towards learning the difference between a bodily orifice and a hole in the ground. Alas, progress seems slow.

Don't own one anymore, but still gave reload dies. PM me if you want them and anything else 6MM I have.
