What are the most durable rubber `boots?

I wear rubber boots pretty much every day, in the summer for snake protection and in the winter to walk through snowy, wet places. I'm tired of replacing the cheap ones from Wal Mart or the local feed stores every few months because they start leaking. I've tried Muck boots and they were a better, but still didn't give me a year. So a little over a year ago I spent $150 on a pair of BOGS and they held up well, until yesterday.

Is there anything better than BOGS? I need something with insulation.

Thanks!

Xtratuf is kind of the unofficial official boot of Alaskans

I've never owned a pair but based on the quantity of folks I saw wearing them and the fact that they are tough enough for Alaska, I have to assume they're pretty well made

I wear these and love them. I have a steel toe pair at work and a regular pair at home.

Ariat has a boot called the Conquest Buckaroo that is a rubber boot with a more traditional square toe boot shape. I have a pair that has held up for a couple of years (not daily wear by any means). They're super comfortable. I don't know if they still make them, I don't see them on their website. Other retailers have them.

I'm a Lacrosse fan. Wear mine a lot, have held up well for multiple years. They also have an insulated mode. Need to pick up a pair of those for cold weather. They fit my feet really well and are relatively easy to take off.

Their tops are narrow-ish so if you have mega calves try before you buy.

Dang, I went to their website and found insulated rubber boots. There was one one-star review and I read it, said they fell apart after two years. In my experience that would be a five star review. They're having a 25% off sale with free shipping, so I have a pair on the way.

I have a pair of LaCrosse leather snake boots and they're good, I just find rubber boots easier to get off and on and a little more comfortable to walk in.

Going on winter #3 with my Xtra-tufs and they are holding up great and very comfortable. I would say just about all the guys I see up here in MT have Xtra-tufs. Women are a split between Bogs and Xtra-tuf.

I have a pair Xtratuff 6" Deck boots that stay by the door and I wear them almost every day. Easy to get in and off and great on rainy days.

I wear muck boot types for work daily and the neoprene always ripped within a month. I finally upgraded to the Lacrosse Alpha Agility Snake Boot and haven't had to buy a new pair in years now. Comfort of a muck boot but the snake guard makes the outside very abrasion resistant

Just bought some cajun Reeboks from Helly-Hansen.

Quality looks good, comfortable but too early to tell how they hold up.

My muck boot company ones are doing well a year into it.

Another vote for xtratuff. I wear tall insulated ones alot in the winter and the low deck boots when fishing or hunting. Super comfortable

I worked in the field daily for years and wore LaCrosse Grange every day after graduating up from crappy Red Ball brand.

They fit like tennis shoes and are ankle tight. I never lost one in the mud no matter how deep or thick the mud was that I stepped.

All the Xtratuf votes makes me feel better that I bought my wife a pair for Christmas. We work rubber boots hard on our farm and haven't found a pair that has lasted more than 18 months.

The OG Alaskans wil tell you that some years back, XTRATUF moved manufacturing offshore and quality suffered. That said, I love my non-vintage ones and have never had an issue. Like you say, if falling apart after two years of continuous heavy use is a downgrade in quality, well, we can long for the good old days, but that is still pretty darn good.

Look into Schnees. I've had several pair. One they replaced sole just because I lost a small snow lug was probably my fault. No charge

GRUNDENS or Lacrosse
There's a reason why both of these are used in a true commercial work environment.

Anyone that claims Xtratuf lasts for actual daily use and abuse haven't worn them in a daily work environment. They don't hold up. They crack at the crease of the foot bend and the sole separated from the boot.

Waterproof Chippewa snake boots (without zipper) also hold up really well but I don't have much experience wearing them daily for a year in a work environment.
