Thoughts? PSA has it on sale with a mount for $300.

I've got a basic AR15 with a fixed front sight post that I shoot with open sights. But I don't get much chance to shoot anymore. I'm not sure it would be the best for my current AR. But wondering if I should get it at this price for a future, nicer build? I have no idea when that'll be though. Could be in 2 years, could be in 5 years. Or, should I just buy something newer when I actually build something.

Or is it a good scope to put on a rifle with a fixed front sight post?

I run them on two ARs. They put them on sale a few times a year. No issue with the scope and as always, love their warranty.

Below 4 or 5x you'll have a blur at the bottom, shouldn't see the post at 8x.

I have a fixed 4x on an AR with a fixed front post and it's a non factor

I'm a big fan of the one I put on a rifle. Bought it from PSA on sale with the cantilever mount.

The only complaint I've really seen about them is they get pretty fuzzy at the 7-8x range. I ran a 1-6x Strike Eagle on my 3 gun rifle for years but recently switched to the Viper PST 1-6x and that was a big step up, and the Strike Eagle is now on the backup rifle. If you don't need the 7-8x, I'd look more closely at the Viper PST - it's a much better scope for not much more money.
