NWS Fort Worth Forecast Discussion

I don't know why the animation won't load, but that front is hauling butt to the southeast.

Enjoy it, the front dropped temps in Denver about 20 degrees in a few hours. We saw elk moving lower in Golden on a bike ride Thursday.

61 with NNW winds 13 and gusts to 20

I'm with the above poster. Our centex forecast still shows 80s through Saturday. Seems this thing is about to pull the hand brake as it's barreling south or the weather guy is very, very wrong.

This is really just the pregame still. The main event is still on Sunday. But if you read what the forecast discussion is saying, it sounds like this push, and the bigger one later, may both get here earlier and be colder than previously expected.

Shouldn't hurt. Should just make more show up. Could make the birds move around a little though. Makes it harder on the guides sometimes depending on the timing of the front and your hunt.

I'll take lows in the 40s every day for the rest of my life and I'd more than be happy with it. Don't know how anyone could prefer what we went though in August.

WTH are you talking about? Did you and I experience the same August? Average high temp of about 110. I'll take high temps in the mid 50s with lows in the 40s every day of the week.

It was plus 3 in Cody this morning. And we had a really pleasant October here, kind of like we skipped fall and went straight to winter. I'm worried about our apple trees. They're still in full green foliage. Didn't have a chance to go dormant. Anyone know if they'll be ok? They're only about five years old.

Yes and no. I'm looking forward to this from a novelty perspective. It's different. I like splitting wood and making fires during it though. And it's a nice delineation from summer garden to winter garden, and football season.

I'm Not a cold weather fan. Heat sucks, but not the same. I can do 110. I'm in the hill county. It was warm. House is set to 80 in the summertime and I'm happy. 60's are ok. Below that it gets iffy….just don't like it. I can't ever get warmed up.

We were at the pumpkin patch on Rock Prairie about an hour ago when the front hit. North wind was followed by what looked like huge flocks of seagulls spiraling south.
