I've got a family member that wants to make czarina soup and needs 2 live Pekin ducks. Does anybody have a lead on some around Brenham or nearby areas?

There were some on Craigslist, some rodeo dude was selling them with a truck toolbox. He's also looking for roommates.

Never heard of that soup and had to look up the recipe. That's a big nope from me.

Mother made it. We always had a few Muscovy(sp) ducks around and I remember it being made with ducks blood and prunes and if she made it it was around Christmas. Had a brother in law that that liked it,this goes back to the late 50s, This the 1st time I have ever seen it mentioned anywhere. Out of curiosity could you reference the recipe? Thought it was spelled Czarnina.

I never knew how to spell it and had to look it up. Still managed to misspell it. Your way is correct.

We were told by some family members who are no longer with us that you had to use Pekin ducks and shouldn't use Muscovy ducks, not sure why.

Only thing I know about Peking ducks is they smile as they're served
