Last couple of years I've had squirrels in my attic. Tried the ultrasonic noise, natural repellents and after paying for Critter Control, an Orkin subsidiary to seal off the access points under the roof peak vents, they were back this chilly morning in Summit County, CO.
The picture shows the mess that Critter Control/Orkin was supposed to clean up when they were paid thousands of dollars to "seal" the access to the attic this summer. Finding what is pictured left less than confident the rest of the work was good enough. Needless to say, I don't recommend Orkin/Critter Control to control rodents now.
On to the real question: how do I get the squirrels to not desire to live in my attic all winter. Clearly they can still find a way in, just need to make it in hospitable for them to do so. The roof pitch is steep and difficult to access so flushing them out from the inside is the route for now.
Consider me way beyond frustrated at this point.
