It's just a barrel. No special requirements at all. Pick the carrier of your own preference and send it on its way.

I tried to send a slide to Kahr via UPS and they refused it because it was a gun part. That was this summer.
UPS will not ship a barrel assuming they know what it is.
Thats correct.Naveronski said:agsalaska said:Negative.Oldman04 said:

And that is their policy, it has absolutely nothing to do with the law.
They don't want to ship firearm parts, but they will absolutely ship stuff without asking what's in the box.
Yea I would think so.bam02 said:
If he brings it in already boxed up they would never know the difference, right? He doesn't have to say what it is.
Yes he can.agsalaska said:Thats correct.Naveronski said:agsalaska said:Negative.Oldman04 said:

Still doesnt change the fact that the OP cannot ship the gun barrel at UPS.
Yea, if he doesnt tell them whats in the box. Been established there my man.Naveronski said:Yes he can.agsalaska said:Thats correct.Naveronski said:agsalaska said:Negative.Oldman04 said:

That's also why you don't use the name of the company.agsalaska said:Yea I would think so.bam02 said:

I got busted because i was shipping it to 'Kahr Arms.' And they asked. And I am honest.
I ship a lot of used auto parts myself.mrad85 said:
When they ask me what it is at UPS, it's always machine parts. Never ever had a problem.

Lots of incorrect information on this thread, mainly about UPS.
1. UPS will ship any gun and any part if you take your shipment to the Customer Service Center or known as the "Hub".
2. "The UPS Stores" are different, and are not allowed by their franchise agreement, to ship anything.... no guns, no parts, no live ammo. They can lose their franchise if they are caught doing so.
I have seen a lots of shipments go through as "machine parts". This type of thing is the responsibility of the owner of the machine part. At least it takes the onus off the shipping company.

This is 100% correct, wife and I own and operate a UPS Store
And you can ship from Fed Ex stores themselves, but not at Fed Ex pickup centers. I shipped a gun back to Colt this past summer. They sent me a return label and the guy at the store didn't show the least bit of interest as to what was inside the box.Allen76 said:

Rifle barrel = baseball bat

This is not correct. Not that I dont believe Agsalaska, but there is no such thing as a rule that changed concerning guns and gun parts shipments. So someone is not being truthful. From what I can see, there is a hub at Belton and one at Round Rock. Are there any more than these two in Bell and Williamson Counties?agsalaska said:LRHF said:Allen76 said:

I can 100% without a doubt tell you that hubs in bell and Williamson counties will NOT ship any gun parts. Won't do it. And they quoted a UPS rule that changed sometime earlier this year.
Unless it has changed again.

Those are the two.
And the guy at the counter said it was BS but couldn't do anything about it. I actually started out at the UPS store on Main in Belton. They sent me to the hub in Belton who also rejected it. Said they could no longer ship ammo or gun parts.
I've got several barrels laying around. Sounds like an OB experiment coming up this week.
