It's been a beautiful morning in the tree with good deer movement-just not one of the mature shooters I'm after. Put my daughters Aggie ring on her finger yesterday in college station and watching deer from a tree stand this morning-doesn't get much better for me.

Checking in from mills county. Definitely didn't need a flashlight this morning. Saw a good sized copperhead on the dirt road on the way in. Good reminder why I am wearing snake boots.

Not hunting this weekend. I went over to Big Lake Bottom WMA yesterday to try my luck in the standby drawing and I got picked. Spent yesterday scouting and will be headed back starting Wed to hunt the rest of the week. Looks like we're gonna get some cooler weather rolling in sometime Wed so that should really help.

My 10 yr old smoked a doe this am

Then he got after cleaning it

Me did everything himself except the bone saw and the butt out.

Awesome. I think that's the first dead deer pic Ive seen so far.

I sometimes wonder if ill ever get my daughters to clean their own deer.

We had a couple kids hunting this morning but weren't able to make it happen. Was just a hint of breeze in the wrong direction and everything got squirrely.

I elevated my Krivoman this year to 13'

Getting off the ground was all the difference for me hunting w/ my kids.

They still wiggle quite a bit.

Evening was a bust I guess scouting at 615 is cool. Also had a dove hunter about 150 yards behind me on the roadway clearing
