My dog (Golden Retriever, 5 years old) has had diarrhea for ~36 hours. It is not severe enough to where she has gone in the house, but she is hassling me to go out constantly, including multiple times throughout the night.

No other symptoms that I can tell (vomiting, lethargy, etc.).

I switched her food ~1.5 weeks ago, and I suspect maybe that is the culprit. But she did fine on it for the first 7-8 days, so I am not sure.

Any thoughts or remedies?

When our dogs get diarrhea or vomit we quit feeding for 24 hours. Then give science diet I/d for a day. That seems to do the trick.

Some clinics will let you drop off a stool sample-can often find the problem with cytology.

But-not always.

Pumpkin is great for a dog's digestive issues. Try that.

canned. They will gobble it up. Should solve your problem.

Pumpkin or make sure and supplement food with some boiled white rice for a while. Not a DVM but related to one.

I did only white rice yesterday. Trying pumpkin today... hopefully that works.

Our Lab had the same thing. Vet tested for everything until a friend told me about Giardia. They can ingest the fungus/bacteria from almost anything. Have the vet test for it. It was a real bi*** to get her over it, but it can kill your dog if you don't treat it. Hope this helps.

Also, our vet ran a full screen on our Lab's poop. Hope that you find the answer.
