I know that I have seen this discussed before (probably several times) but I am not having much luck via the search function.

I am looking for recommendations for a Canadian fishing lodge - probably lake fishing (walleye, pike, trout) as opposed to fly or salmon fishing. This would be somewhat of a "bucket list" trip for myself ('82), my brother, and my adult son. (We last did something like this about 10 years ago - a fly fishing trip to Colo.) Not necessarily looking for first-class accommodations, but not looking to "rough it" either. But good fishing is certainly first priority.

There seem so many options that it is hard to know where to start. Any guidance or recs that you guys could give would be appreciated. Thanks.

Guy I work with just went on a week long camping/canoeing/fishing trip East of Winnipeg. Said it was the best fishing of his life. Not sure exactly where he was though.

Went archery Bear a few years ago with Golden Wally which may have booked through Steve's Outdoor Adventure. Flew into Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We hammered the Walleye, A few Pike, and some lake Trout. Walleye May be my new favorite freshwater fish.

Langara fishing lodge

Did this about 10 years ago with my father-in-law. Had an absolute blast. These people were first class and we brought home so much salmon, halibut, and lingcod.

You can use a guide or take boats out on your own. We used a guide the first day to get the hang of things but the rest of the time we were in our own boat. They have sandwich boats that come out and bring you drinks and snacks (think cart girls on a golf course). I can't wait to take my boys on this. This was rates up with one of my top 5 trips in my life.

We go to Pine Cliff Lodge near Dryden, Ontario, every summer. https://www.pineclifflodge.com/. We're going back again next July.

It's owned by a family that live in Abilene from October - April.

We take a couple of days and drive up there and do the same on the way home.

We went here http://www.minnitakilake.ca/ after buying the trip at a CCA banquet some years ago. Fishing was outstanding, went Labor Day weekend, food was very good, accommodations were comfortable, not fancy. Loaded up on beer and booze in Dryden on the drive up to Sioux Lookout from International Falls. Would definitely do that trip again.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

You ever considered a sturgeon trip? If you're gonna go fishing, might as well catch monsters. Scenery doesn't suck either. Pretty easy to get to the Fraser River via Vancouver. Fun town to party in and if you plan it right, the Canucks hockey games are fun.
