This vine is coming over my fence from a neighbor who does not take care of his yard. It is starting to choke out some of my plants. It seems to be a common weed that I see a lot of places. I keep pulling it but I'm thinking of using a glove saturated in glyphosphate and applying it to the vine to try and get some of the roots.
Thoughts?

Morning glory. I usually just let it run its course.

It's a species of morning glory alright... more specifically purple bindweed. The flowers are attractive and the plant dies to the ground every winter. It comes back from a tuber like root and is honestly kind of hard to get rid of.
