This just came out for sale and I'm trying to put a price on it. I know just enough to get myself in trouble. From my opinion it looks like a 1936 Army Luger? Numbers match except for the magazine. Haven't been able to figure out what the X in front of the serial number is for. Someone mentioned they used the X if the pistol was reassigned from original destination.

Not a blueing expert but doesn't look refinished. All marks, roofing's and numbers look sharp.

My guesstimate of value is $3000. But happy to learn more and be wrong. Thanks!!

The X means it was captured by the Russians. They typically refurbished the guns, including re-blueing to reuse. Probably refinished was since the X they scratched in is also blued. That one doesn't have any mismatched parts or markings scrubbed so it's better than most Russian captures.

I'm far from an expert though, just been dabbling in milsurp for the last couple of years.
