Buddy this morning was asking me about reqs for guides out of Galveston/Freeport. He's looking to do an end of summer fishing trip with his kid. Possible 2 adults & 2 boys under 12. I've never done a Galveston charter so I am turning to OB. Who you got?

Steve is a good guide and more importantly a good dude and a good Aggie. He posts here and I would highly recommend him.

I fished with Steve this past weekend and he was great! I would definitely recommend him. I took my nephew and sister out and Steve was awesome at working with them and getting us on fish.

I'll add that obviously I'm not Steve (sgrem)!! And I don't have any tie financially to his business. Never even met the dude. Have my own boat so not really a need to hire him. But he's always added good stuff to the OB for many years. AND I've seen nothing but positive reviews for people who have fished with him.

Thanks for the replies so far. Buddy plans to email/call guys later today so feel free to add more if you have them.

And just a guess.... probably wouldn't be opposed to an OBer with a boat that wants to pretend to be a guide for the day .

Not sure I could handle a day on a boat with Sharky after listening to the Outdoors show.
Just not a personality fit for me.
Hear he will put you on fish.

if yall are going to fish the ship channel jetties, i suggest getting those kids a scolopamine patch if they've ever had any sort of motion sickness. maybe get them anyway. anchoring up on the south jetty is what got me the first time as a 14 year old.

Yeah... my kid has motion sickness issues at times. His first trip crappie fishing (3-4 yrs ago) he got sick because other boats kept going by us in one of our spots. Last trip (month ago in Gulf Shores) he did great but it was calm and we dealt with very little wake.

Haven't seen the show but we spent 12 hours with him a few weeks ago. Caught some nice snapper. He was great. Super nice and laid back. I'd go back tomorrow except it's still too hot .

Disagree, had a bad experience on a buddy's batchelor trip. However, we did not fish with Sharky himself.

Greg Francis in West Bay is awesome. Highly recommend
