Possible relaxing of the heatwave around mid-August?

I've follow this guy (Ryan Hall) and he's been pretty spot on so far. It looks like there's a modest chance of the heatwave (which will intensify first), moving away to the north west, allowing us a few days of some more "normal to cooler than normal" temps in central TX around the middle of August.

So maybe we'll begin to see more ash and crusty gray grass instead of molten lava at least for a few days until the next heatwave.

Portland and Seattle are in for a nice treat as we send them some Texas weather

Just in time for dove opener!

But seriously - I will welcome the rain and break from the heat An earlier front or two will also help start pushing some blue wings down for the early season opener on the 9th

I feel like this is what I look like anytime rain is headed my way…

We need rain and cooler temps in a bad way in south brazos county…

Hopefully it holds true. It's supposed to be hotter next week compared to this past weeek.

Headed to Penn State at the end of the week for my son's graduation. The highest it'll be there is 79 and the lows are in the low 60's. It'll be a nice break from this heat.

It was really nice in OKC this weekend. At least they're getting a spotty rain here & there that gives them a break in the harsh temps.

The next time someone *****es about it "being cold" or how "they miss summer" later this year, I may just punch them in the mouth.

It's been a relief the last week with much lower humidity in Central Texas.

Very true. They can't even forecast 2 days out correctly half the time anyways

In their defense, the past 30 days worth of forecast have been pretty spot on.

A 5th grader could be a weatherman in Texas in the summer. Just take your 7 day forecast and plus current heat pattern and at the end of the week way down the list throw in 10-20% of rain and you're done. Just keep pushing the rain back each new day.

Easy and accurate

As I have stated my dad owned a ranch in south Texas .. the grass turned brown every August probably 8 of of every 10 years .. no difference today .. we had plenty of 100 plus days .. especially in late July and August .. we set the hay fields on fire several times because they were so dry .. my dad said it's been this way his entire life .. hot and brown in August.. seems pretty much the same to me

The super hot weather is cyclic also .. so is the cold weather

Well 105-108 for 30 days in a row is not normal. Not since 2011 and that was a summer of record. Our historical high is 95. 108 is high

Saw a different report a couple of days ago predicting colder and wetter than normal winter for Texas.

Yep. Weather man and record books can say what they want, but this has been a brutal summer. Once it hit 100 in early June, it has not relented. Not for a day.

No rain since late May, and not a day under 100 for many, many weeks. With most of those in the 103-107 range.

It's been toasty but I'm about acclimated to it now. It'll be bearable for me and then we'll get a cold front that drops temps to the 60's and I'll be freezing my tail off. Every year. Lol.

Jason ain't that the truth. First cold front, um uh, in the 60's I'm looking for my jacket.

We're all going to be *****ing about the cold or the rain or the tropical storms before too long. This summer has sucked but we will persevere

Eric Berger of Space City Weather was discussing the possibility of relief next week back down to more normal temps in the high 90s. This morning's most said that is now not likely.

2011 wasn't the only other bad year. They have happened plenty of times in the past.
