I can't believe this is $600/acre. That's insane. When it got to $20 I remember my dad and his buddies talking about it like the world had ended.

I think was originally listed at $850MM - I remember seeing massive ranch 1-2 years ago at that price located next to Big Bend. Had to be the same one. State should buy it with all the critical habitat it has

Have you ever been there? Carrying capacity is probably 1 animal unit per 70 acres. I remember when Claytie Williams sold the cattle off the Elsinore after it sold. I think they gathered about 2,500 cows off a little more than 400 sections. The Elsinore bordered this property.

This. Most of the game and wildlife in that area live and stay within some reasonable traveling distance to a natural water source.
If you get a 1000 acres that is a good way from any water all you will see is lizards and sidewinders.

I love that area. Spend several weeks each year at the national and state park. I don't know what I'd do with it but if I had throw away money I'd buy it. Probably donate it to the state as parkland. I don't trust the NPS to do it right.

This is all Brad Kelly's country. King has had it listed for 2 years or so in different configurations. That Tesnus Ranch is a neat place and would be the first part sold, if any was going to sell in my opinion. The rest of that country is harsh. Overall crazy price but it generates headlines because of the size.
